Risks and Opportunities of climate change?

Partners discussed feasible assessment in the Future Cities Adaptation Compass

The Future Cities partners from UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany met at the Lippeverband in Essen to develop the Adaptation Compass further. Crucial questions have been risen related to risks and opportunities coming from climate change impacts.

An important message that came out the discussion is the neccessity to highlight the benefits of possible adaptation options: most of the Future Cities measures to face climate change have a positive impact on living quality, raising urban attractiveness and supporting a sustainable development of city-regions.

The further development of the 5-module approach in the Adaptation Compass will have a next milestone at the working group meeting from 6.-7. April in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
