Start of the infrastructure works for the sustainable housing quarter "De Vloei" in Ieper

On 16th June the infrastructure works for the sustainable housing quarter "De Vloei" in Ieper were officially kicked off with a press conference. De Vloei is the first sustainable housing quarter in West Flanders and is realised in a cooperation between the city of Ieper, wvi and the social and a private housing company. The works started with the ground works needed to form the terraces that are the backbone of the green - blue infrastructure of the quarter. The infrastructure will be ready by June 2015.

In "De Vloei" about 250 new dwellings are realised in a sustainable context that takes into account aspects in the field of ecological (green-blue networks, mobility, etc.), social (healthy houses, improved social interaction, etc.) and economic (affordable and social housing, energy efficiency, etc.) sustainability.
