Working Group meeting, Ieper, 14th - 15th September 2011

The working groups of Future Cities met for the 7th time in the city of Ieper in Belgium.

Focus within the sessions was laid on finalising the content of the Adaptation Compass, as from now on the technical development of the tool will start.

Besides the WG sessions the partners also discussed key messages of the project that will contribute to the second phase of the Strategic Cluster SIC adapt!.

The site visit was dedicated to the Future Cities pilot project "De Vloei" - a new quarter of the city of Ieper. Here a new area of 250 housholds is developed in an integrated sustainable way. New solutions concerning ground water, storm water and open water spaces, as well as energy demand and the use of public green space are implemented on an area of 10 ha.
