About Future Cities
Climate change is on top of the agenda of actual scientific, political and public discussions. Heat island effects in summer or wetter winter with increased flash flooding are only a few phenomena which have great impacts on the urban living conditions. We have to face these challenges. Our urban city regions must react on the effects of climate change.
The Future Cities - project aims at making city regions in Northwest Europe fit to cope with the predicted climate change impacts.
The Future Cities - project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Strategic Cluster SIC adapt! unites eight NWE-projects for enhanced results
The Future Cities project is proud to be part of the Strategic Cluster SIC adapt! about adapting to the expected impacts of climate change. The Cluster involves eight INTERREG IV B projects representing almost 100 partner organisations in Northwest Europe dealing with climate change. The Lippeverband as Future Cities Lead Partner has taken over the Lead also for the Strategic Cluster.
